The Journal of Green Transition and Environmental Research publishes peer-reviewed research that helps societies move to a low-carbon, sustainable future. We welcome natural-science, engineering, economic and policy studies on the environment and the green transition.

We are now accepting submissions for our first volume. Accepted articles are published online as soon as they are ready and receive a Crossref DOI.

JGTER considers original work in, but not limited to, the following areas.

- Waste management and the circular economy
- Biodiversity and ecosystems
- Environmental policy and the green economy

Field studies must list any permits they required. Data and models should be shared where possible so others can verify the results.

For authors
Read these points before you submit to JGTER. Word limits, reference style and reporting standards are in the full JGTER author guidelines.
Before you submit
- Check that your paper fits the aims and scope.
- Prepare an anonymised manuscript with no author names or affiliations.
- Prepare a separate title page with authors, affiliations, funding and conflicts of interest.
- Write a short cover letter confirming the work is original and not under review elsewhere.
- Include a data availability statement and disclose any use of generative AI.
Fees and licence
- No fee is charged at submission.
- An article processing charge of €1,399 is invoiced only after acceptance.
- Payment never affects the editorial decision.
- Withdrawal after peer review has started: €499.
- Authors keep copyright, and articles are published under CC BY 4.0.
